Getting Started
Access your account and see how Polaris works.
How to Access Polaris Education
- Navigate to polariseducation.ai and click Sign In at the top right.
- Sign in with your school email address.
- The first time you sign in, Polaris asks for a join code: four words, something like
amber-lantern-quiet-meadow. Pick each word from the four dropdowns, then click Continue. - That's it. The join code tells Polaris which school you belong to and which role you get, so there's nothing else to pick. You land on your dashboard.
Your school has two different join codes, and they are not interchangeable. One creates staff accounts, the other creates student accounts.
- Staff code — what you want. Gives teacher access, which includes reports.
- Student code — for students only. Entering it gives you a student account with no access to reports, and an administrator has to undo it.
Get the staff code from your Polaris team, or from a colleague who already has an account (Your Organization → Join Codes, where both codes are listed and labeled). Never hand the staff code to students.
The four words above are an illustration, not a working code — those particular words are never issued. Your real code will look similar but use different words.
Your Dashboard
Your dashboard is the Listen workspace. It's laid out in the order you'd actually use it: the session you're running now at the top, then everything that comes out of your sessions.
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Your session | The wide card at the top. While a session is running it shows that session with a Monitor session button. When nothing is running it reads "No active session" and offers Start listening session. Either way, All sessions on the right opens the Listening Portal, where every session you've run lives. |
| Reports | Curated listening reports for your school, written by our team once interviews finish processing. See Accessing Reports. |
| Your Organization | Your roster, a breakdown of who you've heard from, your join codes, and your school's details. See Your Organization. |
| Data Constellation | District documents plus a connected map of what students said. Coming soon — the card is visible but not clickable yet. |
| Chat with Polaris | The box across the bottom. Ask a question in plain language and Polaris answers from across every conversation you've recorded. Previous conversations reopens anything you've asked before. See Searching Across Data. |
Switching between Listen, Challenge, and Impact
The switcher in the header moves between Polaris's three workspaces. Which ones you see depends on what your school has turned on.
- Listen is the dashboard above: empathy interviews, reports, and everything downstream of them. This is where most people spend their time.
- Impact is professional development, facilitated activities that turn a finished report into staff conversation and decisions.
- Challenge is student design challenges, still in development.
If you don't see a switcher, your school is on Listen only.
